Mia was placed under general anesthesia on 10/10/11 and a CT scan of the skull and chest, intraoral radiographs and and oral exam were performed. Results showed that Mia has one large oronasal defect along the nostral left maxilla, two smaller defects on the right maxilla, two small round defects on the soft palate, and a cleft at the right side of the soft palate that extends to its caudal end. The results also show that Mia has no hard palate (palatal process of the maxillary bone) on either side.
